‘Miracle dog’ survives a thirty day period in Maroon Bells wilderness after acquiring misplaced

ASPEN — A minor cockapoo relied on a big coronary heart, wily wits and probably a minimal luck to endure four weeks in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness Region near Aspen.

Bella disappeared June 18 when climbing the Capitol Creek Ditch Trail with Betsy and Jim Chaffin and their prolonged loved ones, like two other dogs. Bella experienced absent forward of the human pack with the Chaffins’ grandson and other canine when she turned about. In some way, she got off program and, willingly or not, went on an epic journey.
